People pick their sides when it comes to the home versus condo debate for various reasons. In the end, people will choose living in a Victoria home or a Toronto condominium for reasons such as location, price, size or indoor pools. Whatever the case may be, sometimes a home is a better fit for say a big family while a condo is a better fit for senior citizens. For this article, we're going to be focusing on why senior citizens, those who don't need round the clock medical supervision from their family or Toronto naturopathic doctor, would be better off living in a condo rather than a house.
Living in a condo is a much better fit than a home for senior citizens for a lot of reasons. Living in a home brings about a lot of responsibilities and physical tasks. For one, home owners have to pretty much take care of all chores and activities around the house. Unless they hire someone else to take care of that stuff for them. Things like shovelling during the winter months and mowing the lawn and taking care of the garden during the spring and summer are responsibilities home owners are in charge of. Doing things like that can take a toll on senior citizens. It can be physically demanding work to shovel the sidewalk during the gruelling winter months. Living in Montreal or Mississauga condos means senior citizens don't have to worry about such things, there are maintenance people who take care of that sort of stuff.
The same thing goes for any condo repair or renovation that needs to be done. Home owners have to go about fixing every major or minor repair in their home on their own. Senior citizens wouldn't have to worry about such things if they live in Hamilton or Toronto condos. All they have to do is notify the proper person who will then come into their condo and take care of those repairs for them.
Living in a condo is a very stress free environment for everyone but especially so for senior citizens. They don't have to worry about anything other than paying their condo fees on time. So, if you know a senior citizen who lives in a home all by themselves and are worried about their everyday safety, why not try to sell them on the advantages of living in a condo? Not only do they get to live in a place that takes care of most physically exerting chores but a lot of condos are full of senior citizens so they'll get to live near people their own age. Who knows, they might even make some new friends. There are plenty of condos for sale in Toronto or Vancouver, or everywhere else in Canada, for that matter. |
